I walk alone. I walk alone.
It's raining. I walk on the side of the freeway. I miss your soft lips, I see your face in strangers on the street. I still say your name when I'm talking in my sleep. The rain washes away my tears, but they keep coming. I left my car 7 miles back with everything I ever owned stuffed into the back seat. No one is coming to find me, no one even knows I am gone.
I walk alone. I walk alone.
I look down at my soaked tank top and my hair drips raindrops, they add to my tears. My broken heart beats in an irregular rhythm against the broken down car window. The remnants of a ripped up letter from Harvard lay in the back seat. One piece visibly stands out. DENIED. Broken dreams. I reach down for my phone, my hand grabs at the empty air inside my shorts pocket. Flashes of my former life plague my vision, a happier life and a carefree day. When you took me across the world, we promised that this would last forever, but now I see it was my past life, a beautiful time, drunk off each other till the sun rise. Those days are over and gone forever. There is no turning back this time because you can not live in the past. One day you will wake up and find reality knocking at your door and you won't have the strength to push it away anymore. Today is that day.
I walk alone. I walk alone.
They couldn't care less about what happens to me. There never was a soul in the world who loved me. There was one soul who lied to me, a soul who made me believe in love. The life is fading from me while you watch my heart bleed. Young love murder that is what this must be. And even that soul left me. People always leave.
"They say that true love hurts. Well this could almost kill me."
